Safety Lead

Andrew Smith graduated in 2011 with a diploma in Health and Human Sciences. Building his career as an HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) coordinator for a local construction company, he then went on to work as a Safety Consultant with Atlantic Safety Centre before becoming Lead HSE Advisor with The Cahill Group for their fabrication division from Oct 2013 - May 2024.

Andrew worked on the West White Rose project during fabrication of permanent subsea structures. He has spent a fair bit of time working in Lab City at IOC on multiple projects. He has shutdown experience through Vale (Long Harbour), and experience through a list of projects including MUN core science facility, the Irving St. John's Marine Terminal, the Lower Churchill Project in Muskrat Falls. In 2023, Andrew received the National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation.

Andrew likes to spend time outdoors with his 4 year old black Labrador, Bernie. They love fishing, kayaking, camping and watching sports including basketball and baseball (Bernie is an avid Toronto Raptors and Toronto Blue Jays fan).
